Message from Georgie Bullen:
“After receiving the funding from Herts Inclusive Sports, I was able to secure some additional funding from British Cycling’s Limitless Athlete Support Fund – and that, combined with some self-funding, got me to the target and I was able to buy a tandem!
Since then, I have been able to train regularly on the tandem (often with volunteers from Royston Cycling Club), which has been invaluable for me in gaining road experience – and, I have competed at a Lloyd’s National Para Series race in York where myself and my pilot won gold in both events we raced in. We’re going up to Scotland for the next Para Series race on the 9th and 10th August – and that will be our last preparation races before the Nationals in September which are taking place in Kent. The Nationals will be really challenging as we’ll be racing against all of the GB tandems – however, we’re aiming (or hoping!) to get a podium finish in one of the events. It will be a tall order – but that’s our goal!
Thank you again for your support – it’s been a massive help – and I’ll be sure to let you know how we get on in Nationals!
Many thanks,
Georgie”
