AGB Youth Festival Champion
“The ideal event for any youth archers who are on, or aiming for, NTDP and Pathway squads, as well as those working towards one day making the GB team.
Archery GB have played host the annual four-day Youth Festival tournament held at the Lilleshall National Sporting Centre since 2014. The goal of the event is to simulate the running of international junior events, much like at European Cups and European Championships. For the archers in attendance, they will have the opportunity to experience what attending one of these international events would be like.”
This event really opened Betty’s eyes to the fact she is able to hold her own in a field of 15 archers, in an international competition format, a head-to head situation, with far more experienced archers. This built confidence in her ability for the rest of the season. Pretty good considering she isn’t 14 until late October, so is one of the youngest competitors in her age category. Youth Fest ’24 was her debut.

Junior Archery Series – During (the invitation only, field of 12 archers) Tour Grand Final, Betty built on her previous head-to-head wins, (one stage win and the Youth Festival final) and took gold! The overall tour winners are decided by a point system, meaning it wasn’t quite enough this time and she came away with 3rd and a hunger for next year’s Series!
Southern Counties Archery Society – Youth Tour (SCAYT) – “SCAYT aims to encourage junior archers to participate in the shoots being organised around the SCAS region. The SCAS Junior Championships in late September will constitute the tour finale. At that shoot, archers will be competing to become SCAS Champion in their age-gender-bow type category. They will also be competing to finalise their positions in SCAYT.” SCAS Junior Outdoor Championships – Champion
SCAYT – Betty qualified as second seed, which is very impressive as this year her focus was National Level rather than Regional Level competition, which are the more traditional archery rounds.

We wanted to say a massive thank you for your support, it has given Betty the chance to train, to be able to compete and develop as an athlete. She is looking forward to a tough winter seasons training ahead, starting this weekend with NAG camp at Lilleshall. Focusing on technical and equipment changes, ready to come out next summer and shoot 50 and 60meters in the U16’s.
