This year we have delivered a vital and varied timetable of social and educational activities to over 180 people with learning disabilities and special additional needs.
Some highlights throughout this year include:
• Our Music Man Project members performed at The Royal Albert Hall alongside Michael Ball!
• Grove Grows gardening club rented and transformed two new allotment plots, increasing their crop growing capacity and welcoming more volunteers from the gardening community.
Our members marched in the Bishop’s Stortford Carnival procession, celebrating this year’s theme ‘The Best of British’. To the delight of our staff and members we were awarded a prize in the best dressed category!
Our Operations Manager, Jocelin, reflects upon this past year in her end of year statement: “2024 has been an exciting time for us all. Our members have participated in a range of fun, stimulating and educational activities. Children’s services have comfortably settled into new homes during the redevelopment of our main site. To support members with the transition a highlight of the year was our amazing pre-demolition paint party. Saying goodbye to our home of 60 years was emotional for our older members who were able to paint the walls and leave their handprints and messages. Great fun was had by all. There is now lots of excitement for the year ahead and we are entering 2025 full of positivity and ideas as we continue to offer a home from home for our members!”
